A Control Mark for vegan natural cosmetics - why?
Given the existing labels for vegan products, this is a legitimate question.
However, the answers to it have convinced us that this mark is important:
1.Natural cosmetics not automatically is vegan cosmetics, since also animal products like milk, eggs, honey, wool wax and others are „natural“ and may be used as ingredients of natural cosmetics.
On the other hand, many synthetic raw materials used in cosmetics are well vegan, but not natural, thus banned from natural cosmetics.
It is important for many consumers to use vegan natural cosmetics. However, there is no clear and reliable mark of recognition that is exclusively awarded to vegan natural cosmetics. Hence, now the launch of the sign „Vegan BDIH“, which marks exactly such vegan natural cosmetics.
2.The mark „Vegan BDIH“ represents:
• comprehensive criteria that still are concise and clear
• transparency by publicly available evaluation criteria
• independent and professional evaluation
• continuous control of the production
By these features, our mark meets requirements that are not met by all vegan marks in this completeness.
3.The evaluation and control is done by IONC GmbH, being an authorised and accredited certification body according to the international COSMOS-standard and therefore commanding high expertise in the area of cosmetic products. Its reliability and independence is granted, so consumers can trust in the evaluation and the value of the sign „Vegan BDIH“.
